The Law In Plain English: INCORPORATION
Steps to Incorporation:
- Choose a name.
- Conduct a Name Search to see if the name you want is available.
- Choose the people that will run the company like the president, secretary and directors.
- Determine what type and how many shares your company should issue (we may have to chat with your accountant on this matter).
- The government requires Incorporation Documents which set out how you will run the company, how votes will be conducted and so on. We draft these and then send them to the government.
- After the government approves the corporation, we need to create a record of all of the above documents and then document anything the directors or shareholders decide after the date of incorporation. We create a minute book for the company to organize the documents, then help you maintain the minute book on an ongoing basis.
