  • Supreme Court of Canada, Syndicat Northcrest v. Amselem, intervener arguing in favour of section 2(a) Charter rights.
  • Supreme Court of Canada, Congregation des Timoins de Jehovah de St-Jerome-Lafontaine v. Lafontaine, intervener arguing in favour of section 2(a) Charter rights.
  • Supreme Court of Canada, Richard Sauve, et al. v. Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, et al., representing the government of Alberta arguing in opposition to legislation that would grant prisoner’s the right to vote in elections.
  • Court of Queen’s Bench & Court of Appeal, Sulphur Corp. of Canada Ltd. v. Proprietary Industries Inc.
  • Court of Appeal, Gibb v. Nigeria, application for a stay of order pending appeal.

  • Counsel to the Justices of the Queen’s Bench of Calgary.  Research and drafting judgments.
  • Issuing demand letters and subsequent statements of claim for various individuals in defamation cases.
  • Issuing demand letters and subsequent statements of claim for various individuals in labour and employment law cases on behalf of both employees and employers.
  • Representing various clients in corporate commercial disputes.
  • Researching, drafting, and issuing a statement of claim, and partaking in settlement discussion in a case involving a large Canadian oil and gas company, a large Canadian railway company, and an international shipping company.
  • Researching, drafting, and issuing a statement of claim, and partaking in settlement discussion in a case between an Alberta oil and gas company and an American pipeline producer.
  • Researching and drafting various court documents for a client seeking intervener status, and then once granted, arguing that a Washington State agency should be entitled to information from the Canadian Department of Food and Agriculture and that this information should not be protected by public interest immunity.
  • Researching and preparing various claims on behalf of Member’s of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
  • Drafting complaints and advocating on behalf of individuals presenting grievances to the Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission.
  • Arguing salary arbitrations on behalf of NHL Member Clubs.
